Friendships

What does friends mean to you? And how do you choose them? We all know the importance of friendships and how they can impact your world. But how true are you to your friend? It is your role you should pay attention to, not theirs. What do you give to that person and not what you can get from them. You know we have all gone through those friendships where they were only in to gain. They were only interested in what they can get from you, either your knowledge, your contacts or maybe even just to find your weakness, then hurt you. Awful isn’t it. Do you think they got over on you? Do you think they took something away from you? No way! The only person they slighted were themselves but usually they never see right away. Everything you do to a person, if it’s for your own selfish gain, will only be temporary. Only honest relationships last. Each time you came across someone like that, who played that kind of role in your life, initially yes you felt disappointed, hurt of course. However, I’ve learned to see the blessing - thank you God for revealing them to me. It’s better to know then not to know. You could have gone on thinking they were still that person who you thought they were. Aren’t you glad you found out : )? Well thats what you pay attention to, not what you think they took from you. So now you choose differently. They actually missed out on the beautiful person that you are. I’ve been blessed to find and still have the most wonderful friends in my life, some I just met, some I met through a friend, who is no longer my friend and some I’ve had for years. My spiritual sisters. Only for a reason right. I’ve learned to choose friends who are just like me. My girls who I know has got my back and I theirs, can call me anytime...even if I’m married. Call. It is important for me to be there. Whether you were one of those people who inflicted pain or one of those people who received it. Forgiveness and self checking is a must. Don’t be afraid to check yourself. You will grow when you do. Today’s blog goes out to my girls Victoria, Andrea, Cozette and most importantly Nicole thank you for the support! You know what I am speaking of and am truly grateful.

  1. Friend is a word that should not be used for everyone who crosses your path. But there are friends who come into your life and help you through situations and over obstacles. Listen to your thought and dreams night after night and offer insight whenever they can. They also know when to stand back when you have to walk on your own. As they fade away and new ones come into view, just remember it was that old friend that got you through. Mike
